MOOROOLBARK, VIC 3138

Mooroolbark is a small town in the Brushy Creek Valley, about 30 kilometres east of Melbourne. Mooroolbark town centre has a real sense of a bustling community hub, with parklands and playgrounds bordering the central shopping area, as well as the local community centre and library. Beautiful blooms on Brice Avenue, vintage clothing on Manchester Road, and antique reproduction furniture at The Terrace are among the bustling hubs and a variety of retailers in Mooroolbark. More shops, including pet and stock feed, can be found on Cardigan Road, and sensory toys and resources can be found on Winyard Drive, which is located to the north of the railway line. John Gardiner, a cattle overlander, took a lease on land between Brushy Creek and Olinda in 1837 and named his run Mooroolbark, which is thought to be an Aboriginal word for red earth. William Fletcher, a cousin of Gardiner’s, bought a portion of the run in 1845 and named it Mooroolbark Park.

The homestead that resulted is now part of Chirnside Park, which was separated from Mooroolbark. In 1855, the parish of Mooroolbark was established. Wheat was grown on the relatively open land, as well as dairying and pasture production. Dairying quickly became the dominant industry. The road to the Woods Point and Upper Goulburn goldfields passed through Mooroolbark in the 1860s, bringing more settlers to the area. In 1868, a school was built. The Lilydale railway opened in 1882, followed by the Mooroolbark station in 1887. Following that came land subdivisions with views of the Dandenong Ranges, but about half of the owners were absentee. The majority of the residents were small dairy farmers. As of 2016, the population of Mooroolbark reached over 21,000 with its residents coming from different cultures and different regions of Australia.

DURABLE COLORBOND ROOF INSTALLATION MOOOROOLBARK

Colorbond metal roofs are an excellent choice for Australian homes because they require little maintenance and provide excellent insulation. Colorbond metal roofing is environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and built to withstand the elements. Unlike tiles, Colorbond metal roofs are flexible and lightweight, making installation easier and less expensive.

First and foremost, installing a colorbond roof on your own is not recommended. A minor installation error can become an eyesore and cost a lot of money in alterations. As a result, it’s best to seek professional assistance from ELR Plumbing, expert roof plumbers in Mooroolbark.  The process of installing a colorbond roof is quite difficult. There are a few things to consider, including size, colour, design, and other accessories that complement your home’s architectural style. With a little research, you can find the best deals on the market and possibly save money on your entire roofing bill. When it comes to Colorbond roof installation, the roof sheets must be installed with the proper slope to allow rainwater to drain away from the gutter at the end. The roof sheets must also be secured to the timbers/steel framework beneath with roofing screws. Flashings will be used to finish off the edges to prevent water infiltration while also providing aesthetic benefits.

Given enough time and exposure, even the best roofing systems will fail. When problems arise with your roof, the ELR Plumbing team can quickly identify and resolve them. ELR Plumbing also has access to a wide range of products through our network of local suppliers in Mooroolbark, which we combine with our over 15 years of experience in the roofing industry to ensure that you get the best value for your money!

METAL ROOFERS AT YOUR SERVICE MOOROOLBARK

NON-COMBUSTIBLE ROOFING

Steel is a fire-resistant, non-combustible material that will not feed a fire. Colorbond steel is known for its long life performance, thanks to its corrosion-resistant Zincalume steel base and baked-on paint finish that resists chipping, peeling and cracking. It’s also non-combustible, termite-resistant, and weather-resistant, so it’ll protect your Mooroolbark properties from the elements in Australia.

FIVE-LAYER PROTECTION ROOFING IN MOOROOLBARK

Colorbond panels’ steel bases are coated with BlueScope’s Activate technology, a globally patented and industry-leading metallic coating that provides excellent anti-corrosion performance. To improve the adhesion of subsequent coatings, a thin pre-treatment layer is applied. A polyester primer is applied to the surface and baked in place. This is one of the primary reasons why metal roofers prefer Colorbond!

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

The manufacturers of Colorbond, BlueScope, recommends that minor scratching on the sheet does not need major touch ups. Minimal scratching on the Colorbond sheet has no effect on its lifespan and minor scratches are not visible to casual passersby. But, if the Colorbond roofing or sheet obtains substantial damage, then it is time to replace it with a new sheet.

Colorbond and Zincalume steel can be easily maintained by washing it with water on a regular basis, which will not only extend its life but also keep it looking good for longer, protecting your investment. This maintenance is usually not required in applications where the paint finish is automatically washed by rainwater, such as cladding or roofing.

The weather is ideal for exterior home improvement projects such as roofing in the spring. The weather is milder than in the winter, and the humidity is lower than in the summer. During your roof replacement project, high humidity can cause moisture damage to your roof.

A roof can be replaced in as little as one day or as long as three weeks. A single-family home’s total roofing replacement takes about 2-3 days on average. The length of time it takes to replace a roof is determined by several factors, according to ELR Plumbing. It could take up to three weeks depending on the weather, complexity, and accessibility of your home.

Most Australian homeowners spend between $10,000 and $25,000 for their new roof. The price for replacing your roof will depend on the size of your roof, the pitch of your roof, the difficulty reaching your home site, and the kind of material that is being replaced.

Colorbond roofing is generally less expensive than tiles in when installing a new roof. This is primarily due to other construction costs that can occur during roof installation.  When only considering the material cost and ignoring other costs such as trusses, insulation, and so on, concrete tiles can sometimes be less expensive than Colorbond. In the long run, Colorbond is still proven to be the more cost-effective option when it comes to metal roofing.

Many individuals wonder if their home’s metal roof is to blame for their poor cell phone service. The quick answer is that it isn’t! There’s no proof that a metal roof interferes with your phone’s signal any more than any other material.
